Dr. Murali Krishna Sarma Bhuvanagiri (Sarmaaji) is a highly proficient Hindu priest, serving in and around the Greater Charlotte area and nearby cities in North and South Carolinas performing Hindu religious services and events. Dr.Sarmaaji is one of the founders of "Sankaramatam Vedic Academy", serving as a Head Priest of the organization and is playing a key role in the promotion of the Sanatana Hindu Dharma and Vedic Practices with his teachings

Priest Murali Krishna Sarma hails from a highly respectable and Traditional Vedic Ancestral Family from India. He is the youngest son of Late Sri B.V.V. Sastry garu who served in the Indian Military. Dr Sarmaaji was born in the holy city of Haridwar and later moved to Hyderabad and was a native of the city till he migrated to the USA.

Education:

Sarmaaji did his initial schooling in Haridwar and later pursued higher education from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. He completed a “Master’s degree (M.A) in Astrology from “Potti Sriramulu University, Hyderabad” and later achieved a Doctorate degree in Vedic Astrology

Ambitious to learn more and to enhance his skills to serve the community, Dr. Sarmaaji also pursued his educational career in Hindu Religious courses and completed the “Krishnayajur Veda Smartha Agama Sastra” course from “Kanchi Kamakoti Smartha Vedapatasala “under the able guidance of “Brahma Sri Emani Suraya Narayana Murthy”. He achieved expertise in “Devaalaya Smartha Agama Sastra”, Panchadasa Karma and Pratisthapana.

Career:

Certified as a “Smartha Agama Priest” from the Endowments Department, Govt of India Dr. Sarmaaji has over 18 + Years of experience in “Vedic practice” performing various Hindu rituals and events, 12+ years of “Astrology practice, and reviewed more than 5,000+ Horoscopes” till date. With his expertise in Devaalaya Sastra, Dr Sarmaaji performed “Devalaaya Prathisthapana Pooja”(Temple Construction process from Layout to Installing Deities) for more than 20 + Temples in the USA and around than 100+ Temples across the globe. He is very proficient in performing “Vedic Shodasa Samskaras” in Telugu, Hindi, and Sanskrit and can explain them in the English language. He is well versed in North and South-Indian Vedic traditions and performed many religious services according to their culture.

• Sarmaaji started his career in 2002 after the completion of his graduation in Hindu Religion and Vedic Sastras as a priest apprentice under Sri Sagi Narasimha Murthy, author of Sri Pratishta Kalpam performing Panchadasa Karma and Pratisthapanas.
• Worked as a Assistant priest in Maha Ganapathi Devalayam owned by Reliance Industries, in Moudha, near Nagpur Maharashtra for around two years.
• Served as a priest for one year in Mauritius, per the invitation of Mauritus Andhra Maha Sabha
• Sarmaaji served as a host for two major TV shows Grahabalam and Nomulu Vratalu from 2007 – 2012 in Bhakti TV. He was one of the early persons to start Bhakti Pravachanas (religious discourses) on live religious TV channels like Bhakti TV, Samskruti TV etc.
• After migrating to USA in 2012, Dr Sarmaaji served as a Head Priest for “TRIAD HINDU TEMPLE, Greensboro NC till 2021. In addition to performing regular priestly services, he conducted many major events in the Triad Hindu temple. He was instrumental in raising funds for the construction of the new temple by conducting many innovative programs to name a few like Gramotsavam, Lalitha Maha Yagnam, Deepotsavam etc. He earned a special place as Guru for many Devotees in the Triad area.
• Sarmaaji has done 100+ of wedding services including destination weddings in the USA and out of the countries including Jamaica/Cancun. He has unique priest services like Sahasra Chandra Darshana(80+ years of celebration), Sahasra linga archana at home using 1116 handmade clay shiva lingas and many more.
• Sarmaaji has done prathishpana’s of many temples like Sai Datta Peetam in NJ, Mount GoMary hindu temple in Alabama, Triad hindu temple in Alcord Rd, Mount Soma temple in Asheville, Carbondile hindu temple in Illionis, Stockton Hindu temple in California, Saibaba temple in Charlotte, along with major events like Sahasra Lalitha Maha Yagnam in NJ, Chandi rudra yagam in SV temple Cary, Satakunda maha yagnam in Memphis temple, Laksha modaka maha yagnam in Memphis temple and many more
• With the strong passion towards teaching and to expand religious services to the Greater Charlotte community and also across US for the diffusion of Sanatana Dharma, Sri Sarmaaji along with few others founded an institution Sankaramatam Vedic Academy. Currently services by the academy are conducted online and at the residences of the devotees and are in pursuit of establishing a permanent location for local services in the Charlotte area and around Charlotte are offered by the academy.

Other Activities:

• Dr Sarmaaji has been preparing “Chaandramana Panchangaam” (Lunar Hindu Calendar) exclusively for all US time Zones.
• Closely working with other Indian organizations for the wellbeing of the community in promoting Blood drives, Food drives, Medical camps, Urban Ministry etc.
• Established a YouTube channel VB Vedic Astrology, presenting various Vedic and astrological discourses and articles. The channel has over 40,000 + subscribers across the globe and growing.
